Major Herbs in Mukta Vati Formula

There are eight major herbs and two sea minerals combined in a unique formula that makes MuktaVati a powerful herbal solution to high blood pressure.

Centella Asiatica (Brahmi)

The first herb in the formula of Mukta Vati is Centella Asiatica. It is considered the primary Ayurvedic nerve and cardiac tonic, having been traditionally used for chronic venous insufficiency, cardiovascular disease, and for wound healing.

However, in India, Centella Asiatica is best known as a mental rejuvenator which improves memory and retention as well as reduces negative impact of stress. The plant is considered to be helpful in maintaining youthful vigor and vitality.

It has been used for nervous disorders, epilepsy, senility, premature aging, hair loss, obstinate skin conditions and venereal diseases.

It pacifies high vata or pitta, relieves mental fatigue, brings deep sleep and relieves convulsions. Research suggests that Centella asiatica improves memory, mental functions and reduces learning time.


Convolvulus Pluricaulis (Shankhapushpi)

This plant is also a mental rejuvenator. It is considered one of the best in the category of mental rejuvenators in India.

It is well known to reduce anxiety level, decrease stress hormone level, and lower blood pressure and pulse rate. It enhances mind power in terms of learning, memory, and recall.

Convolvulus Pluricaulis is very beneficial for the nervous system, enhancing the quality of bone marrow and nerve tissue.


Terminalia Arjuna (Arjuna)

Terminalia Arjuna is the first in line in the category of cardioprotective plants. It is typically used as a cardiotonic agent.

Its extract has been found to enhance coronary flow and lower blood pressure and pulse rate. This plant is also used to prevent oxidative stress, exerting a protective effect for the body.

It has potent antioxidant activity and increase the body’s enzyme to metabolize lipid. It also improves exercise tolerance.


Celastrus Paniculatus (Jyotishmati, Black Oil Plant)

In India this is a well known woody climbing vine and grows almost all over India, especially in the hilly areas. Its seeds and seed oil are used to enhance memory and comprehension.

Its extract is shown to have significant protective effect against free radical damage. This antioxidant effect might be accountable for its cognitive-enhancing properties. The plant also offers protection against a host of neurodegenerative diseases.


Inula Racemosus (Pushkarmool)

Withania Somnifera (Ashwagandha)

Withania Somnifera is commonly referred to as “Indian Ginseng.” It’s well known in Ayurveda for their rejuvenative properties.

Onosma Bracteatum (Gazoban)

Onosma Bracteatum is a medium sized perennial herb. It is used in rheumatism, alterative, diuretic, syphilis, leprosy and heard diseases. It is also used to excessive thirst and restlessness in febrile excitement, irritation of bladder and stomach.


Tinospora Cordifolia (Guduchi)

Tinospora Cordifolia is both a tonic and powerful immuno-modulator. It is regarded both as a anti-inflammatory agent and as a blood purifier and liver protector.

It is shown to possess antioxidant activity. Tinospora Cordifolia has been shown to reduce frequency of asthmatic attacks and decrease in severity of coughing and wheezing.
